Accessibility Statement

A gentle note on access and suitability

At Bunyara, we aim to create a space that feels welcoming, supportive, and accessible to as many people as possible. At the same time, the natural setting and physical layout of the property mean there are some important considerations.

We encourage you to read the information below and to reach out if you would like to discuss your individual needs.

Arrival and driveway access

Bunyara is accessed via an approximately 70-metre asphalt driveway that descends on a relatively steep slope.

The driveway is suitable for standard vehicles and is generally easy to navigate by car. However, the incline may feel significant for those with mobility concerns or for anyone accessing the property on foot.

The property and surrounding grounds

Once on the property, the main areas are flat and level, allowing for easier movement around the space.

The retreat is designed to support a gentle, low-demand experience, and the layout reflects this wherever possible.

The natural environment

Bunyara is set within a natural rainforest environment, and local wildlife is part of the surrounding ecosystem.

At times, this may include insects such as leeches or ticks, and occasionally native wildlife such as snakes. These are a normal part of the environment and are generally not a cause for concern.

Guests are encouraged to take simple, sensible precautions when spending time outdoors, such as wearing appropriate footwear and being mindful of their surroundings.

The house and entry

The house itself is largely accessible and can accommodate wheelchair use within the interior spaces.

At the front entrance, there is a small step (door lip) that may require assistance for some guests using mobility aids.

Individual needs and conversations

We recognise that accessibility needs vary from person to person.

If you have any questions or would like to talk through your specific situation, you are very welcome to contact us or raise this during your enquiry. We are happy to discuss the space in more detail so you can make an informed and comfortable decision.

Our approach

In keeping with the ethos of Bunyara, we aim to be open, honest, and thoughtful in how we describe the space.

Our intention is not to determine suitability on your behalf, but to provide clear information so that you can decide what feels right for you.
